M/s MAADURGA THERMAL POWER COMPANY LTD. ( MTPCL) as an Independent Power Producer (IPP) have come up to setup a Thermal Power Station with an installed capacity of 60 MW having 2(two) Units each of 30 MW to sell the power to Odisha grid through Orissa Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) transmission line.

Pursuant to amendment of the Electricity Act 2003, all types of power generation, except hydro power generation has been completely delicensed. To meet the huge demand for power, MTPCL is setting up a 60 MW (2X30) MW Coal Based Thermal Power Project. Coal for the project is proposed to be made available from the coal linkage at Talcher mines, which lie at a distance of around 80 km from the project site. 100% of saleable power from this project shall be evacuated to other States Through Tata Power Trading & in Orissa through GRIDCO.
As regards to PPA the agreement has already been signed with TATA Power Trading Company Ltd on 21st November 2009.
Contract for 12% of State Share has been signed with GRIDCO on 3rd January 2011
EPC contract for Boiler & its auxiliaries, TG & it's auxiliaries and BOP awarded to M/s Cethar Vessels Limited, Trichy,Tamilnadu, dated. 11.12.2009.
Civil Work execution contract awarded to M/s Sri Durga Condev (P) Limited, Jagatpur, Cuttack, dated. 15.02.2010.
EPC contract for 92.7 meter height Chimney awarded to M/s Bygging India Limited, Bombay, dated. 23.09.2010.
EPC contract for 132 KV Switchyard & Transmission line up to Chandikhol Grid substation has been awarded to M/s A.K.Das Associates Limited, on 16.08.2010. Supervision will be done by OPTCL.
Generator Transformer and station auxiliary transformer order also placed to AREVA T & D and detailed drawings received from AREVA for generator transformers, on 17.08.2010. The transformer and its accessories have been already been received at our site.
The Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) has been signed with Govt of Odisha on 9th April 2010 setting up 60 MW( 2 X 30 MW).
The financial closure has already been completed along with funding arrangement from consortium of Bankers.
